Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process customer transactions quickly and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos to highlight features and benefits of items, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with precision, including cash, credit, and gift card transactions
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stocking and merchandising efforts to keep the store organized
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or via other communication channels
Skills
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual abilities to serve diverse customers effectively
- Proven supervising experience or ability to support team members during shifts
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling and product demos to enhance customer experience
- Familiarity with grocery store operations and retail math for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Ability to perform basic math quickly for checkout accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and maintaining store displays
