Winsight is a leading B2B information services company focused on the food and beverage industry, providing insight and market intelligence to business leaders in every channel consumers buy food and beverage – convenience stores, grocery retailing, restaurants and noncommercial foodservice – through media, events, data products, advisory services, and trade shows.
Position Objective
The Editor will serve primarily as a reporter and creative content whiz for WinsightGroceryBusiness.com, working with WGB’s dedicated, hard-working, collaborative and ego-free editorial team. The editor is expected to develop and “own” their assigned business beats and contribute thoughtful, incisive, contextual reporting on daily news as well as larger grocery industry trends.
Position Responsibilities
- Write an average of 1-2 stories per weekday for WinsightGroceryBusiness.com and “own” select topic- and company-focused reporting beats.
- Contribute original reporting to special reports and longer-term projects.
- Join WGB editorial colleagues in engaging audiences on social media and be an active participant in social-media strategy and planning.
- Some travel (<10%) to report from leading industry events and energetically engage with grocery industry audiences.

- This position is largely flexible in terms of work location, but in-office availability at least 2x/month is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Journalism background preferred, business/industry reporting experience desired.
- Do you know your way around an earnings statement? Do you geek out over monthly Labor Department reports? Do you relish not just reporting what’s going on but also sharing why it matters? You’re our people.
- High attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy are expected. Knowledge of AP style preferred.
- Social-media experience in establishing, maintaining a professional individual and/or brand presence is preferred.
