GENERAL SUMMARY
The CNC Programmer creates programs necessary to fabricate high quality wire products. Responsible for accurately interpreting drawings and then creating programs for several machines. WireCrafters currently has CNC line for angle processing (FICEP), two fiber lasers, advanced tube laser (BLM) and Hydraulic Press Brake The CNC Programmer will create programs for all of these machines using various CAD CAM software. This position is part of our Engineering Department.
Regular hours are 6:45am - 5:15pm Mon - Thurs, with additional overtime hours if necessary. Starting pay is dependent upon experience. There is a regular quarterly raise schedule from 6 months until top pay is reached and a signing bonus of $500 payable after 90 days (subject to attendance conditions).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Accurately interpret drawings and cut-sheets.
- Create part and nest programs for various machines.
- Troubleshoot part issues with shop and office leaders.
Requirements
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and other Office software.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, 3D CAD is a plus.
- Part / Nesting software knowledge is a plus.
- Background in steel manufacturing a plus, but not required.
- The ability to read measuring tools such as measuring tape and calipers.
- Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
- High School Diploma or GED
