Shop Hand

Tasks


  • Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
  • Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
  • Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.
  • Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.
  • Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory of stock
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders and records for vehicle maintenance files
  • Organize and maintain the parts stock room.
  • Retrieve orders that are unavailable for delivery.
  • Record shipment data, such as damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  • Remove garbage from shop and place in Garbage dumpster
  • Remove Scrap metal from shop and place in scrap dumpster
  • Remove junk tires from shop and place in junk tire pile
  • Keep shop floor swept and clear of debris
  • Operate various hand tools and power tools to keep yard clean/organized and free of obstacles
  • Operate pressure washer to wash trucks as needed
