Shop Hand
Tasks
- Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
- Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
- Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.
- Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.
- Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Maintain inventory of stock
- Prepare documents, such as work orders and records for vehicle maintenance files
- Organize and maintain the parts stock room.
- Retrieve orders that are unavailable for delivery.
- Record shipment data, such as damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
- Remove garbage from shop and place in Garbage dumpster
- Remove Scrap metal from shop and place in scrap dumpster
- Remove junk tires from shop and place in junk tire pile
- Keep shop floor swept and clear of debris
- Operate various hand tools and power tools to keep yard clean/organized and free of obstacles
- Operate pressure washer to wash trucks as needed
