POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to sets up, operate, and troubleshoot Automatic mail inserting and inject machines. Responsible for ensuring production meets and/or exceeds expectation for productivity, timeliness, and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and adjust the machine to operate efficiently.
- Oversee output and adjust, as necessary.
- Monitor mail inserting machines to ensure all pieces meet established mailing/quality standards.
- Ensure that the correct production materials are being used and put away upon completion of job.
- Complete production records accurately using computer system.
- Balance trays against documentation to ensure correct count.
- Demonstrate an understanding of production schedules and priorities
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating the equipment. Ability to identify if improper machine operation and make basic adjustments.
- Follow standard operating procedures to verify mail quality and document integrity.
- Complete required record keeping and participate in cross-training.
- Knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to solve mechanical problems, interpret instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form
- Computer literate, able to work with basic Windows computer application (startup, shutdown, point & click, read, and understand graphs and data presented on screen
