What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Patient Access - Patient Access - Full-Time position at Woman's Hospital?
The Patient Access Supervisor provides leadership, support, and direction for patient access staff in admitting/ER. Responsible for staffing and supervision of daily activities to produce successful outcomes for all patient encounters. Measures productivity and outcomes and works to ensure financial performance objectives related to revenue cycle initiatives are achieved.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate Degree preferred.
- CHAM or CHAA certification required within one year of hire.
- Five years of healthcare experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes AHIQA and meets goals and standards. Ensures staff utilize AHIQA, fix errors in a timely manner, and meet hospital-wide goal of 99% accuracy. Maintains and troubleshoots clearance product.
- Registers patients accurately and thoroughly (including, insurance mnemonic, status, service, type, accommodation, eligibility and patient estimation and collections) to the appropriate location and within the required time frame when needed to maintain minimal wait time.
- Maintains cash drawer, document collections and collection attempts and ensures staff do so according to department policy.
- Coordinates work schedules for supervised areas. Evaluates staffing productivity against current volumes and proposes necessary staffing changes to manager. Manage patient flow through registration process at all locations.
- Acts as a liaison between Assessment Center clinical staff, patients and families, and patient access staff. Oversee the assessment center waiting room to positively impact patient experience and minimize wait time.
- Maintains current and appropriate documentation relative to each employee's performance in support of annual appraisals.
- Manage relationships with other hospital areas.
- Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Hourly/Non-Exempt
$22.00 – $33.00; based off work experience
