Women First is looking for a dedicated Sonographer for our state-of-the-art department to join our team!
Position Summary: Our Sonographers work as independent medical imaging professionals in a fast-paced department. Sonographers provide detailed, quality imaging while delivering exceptional patient care and compassion. Women First employs a highly skilled team of dedicated Sonographers with vast years of experience. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands. Compassion and care when dealing with patients is a must. Exam types include Gynecology and Obstetrics (including all trimesters), Antepartum testing, Twins surveillance with UmA and MCA Doppler and more. The office utilizes electronic medical records as well and digital Ge ViewPoint reporting systems. Our exams are performed according to AIUM guidelines as ordered by the Physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Preform OB/GYN ultrasound exams with oral and / or written summary of exam findings to physicians for use in medical diagnoses.
Provide complete and quality exams.
Proficiently and efficiently operate ultrasound equipment ensuring images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
Good knowledgebase of anatomy, pathologies, fetal anomalies, disease processes required
Observe and care for patients throughout exams to ensure safety and comfort.
Assessment of patient through history, EMR data and inquiry to patient. Assess special needs. Provide patient education.
Communicate with physicians and other departments.
Work requires continual attention to details.
Clean and disinfect all utilized ultrasound equipment.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirement:
Current OB/GYN RDMS certification and maintains ongoing certification through ARDMS. Good working knowledge of current equipment and computer/ultrasound software programs. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the general public. Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands. Knowledge of policies and practice of procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality. Proper knowledge of medical chart documentation.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Job requires physical contact with the patient and their families. Possible exposure to hazardous body fluids and chemicals. Varied activities include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including telephone, fax, and computer.
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality. Proper knowledge of medical chart documentation.
Education
Position requires employees to have an Associate and / or Baccalaureate Graduate of Science in an accredited sonography program. Minimum of two years clinical experience in an OB/GYN ultrasound unit preferred.
