Director, Nursing / Acute Care / Full Time Director, Nursing leads and oversees nursing services to ensure safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care. This role aligns clinical practice with organizational goals, fosters staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement in outcomes and service excellence. Director, Nursing is an onsite position.Essential Functions
- Direct daily operations by planning, implementing, and evaluating staffing, workflow, and patient care activities to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe services across the department/unit. Provide leadership coverage in the absence of the Vice President, Patient Services as assigned.
- Assess, coordinate, and provide staff education, orientation, and competency programs. Conduct performance evaluations, coach and mentor team members, and ensure accountability through feedback and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Monitor and implement performance improvement initiatives, analyze key metrics, and ensure compliance with all regulatory, accrediting, and hospital standards. Prepare for inspections and act as a resource for policies, protocols, and best practices.
- Foster strong relationships and communicate effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and leadership. Lead department/unit meetings, disseminate critical information, and respond to issues and service recovery needs in a timely, professional manner.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets, capital requests, and payroll. Utilize benchmarks and data analytics to support cost-effective care delivery, resource utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement safety protocols, infection control standards, and emergency procedures. Monitor the condition and functionality of clinical equipment and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.

Requirements
Education:
- Diploma Nurse or ADN from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing within 2 years (or)
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare services within 2 years
License: Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio by time of hire
Experience: Three (3) years’ supervisory or managerial experience
Certification:
- BLS
- ACLS (ED, ICU)
- PALS (ED)
- NRP (OB)
Preferred
Education: Master’s degree in nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration
License: None
Experience: Five (5) years’ clinical experience relevant to the department
Certification: Specialty certification
