Student - SOE Fellows Intern

Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking a student to assist the School of Education’s Creative Learning Studio. The Student Fellow has the opportunity to receive mentorship and experience in the integration of STEM content and practices as they work with the Faculty and Teacher fellows to develop the project proposal, implement and evaluate the project, and disseminate the results.

This position is for up to five hours per week throughout the academic year.

Summary Of Responsibilities

Assist the Creative Learning Studio School of Education Fellows teacher with the required work for the specific project. (Each project is determined by the professor associated with the CLS SOE Fellows program.) That may include, but is not limited to:

• Researching the project needs.
• Gathering data.
• Creating lessons.
• Planning activities.
• Collaborating with teachers.
• Instructing students.
• Writing reports.
• Any other project planning and execution needs as determined by the professor.
  
  

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

• Must be a current UVU student
  
  

Knowledge

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Digital tools and software used for content creation, including learning platforms, screen recording tools, and e-learning development tools.
• Research and evaluation processes, including survey design and basic data collection.
• Educational technologies and online learning environments, particularly those used to support statewide teaching, learning, and collaboration.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to assist with lesson plan writing, documentation, and communication.
• Creative and technical content development skills, including the ability to design visually clear, accessible resources.
• Digital literacy skills, including proficiency with Google, Microsoft Office, learning platforms, and resource library tools.
• Problem-solving and design-thinking skills.
• Attention to detail for tasks related to data collection, evaluation, documentation, and resource tagging.
• Project management and teamwork skills, such as meeting deadlines, collaborating with a diverse group of educators, and supporting ongoing development cycles.

• Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
• Collaborate effectively.
• Participate in evaluation activities, including distributing surveys, gathering feedback, and documenting results.
• Maintain organization across shared documents, files, and resource libraries, ensuring materials are properly stored, labeled, and tagged.
