Joliet Public Schools District 86 is the Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade public school district located in Joliet, IL. Chartered in 1857, Joliet 86 is the 3rd largest elementary school district in Illinois with 21 buildings and approximately 9,500 students.

Qualifications for the Position:

  • Professional Educator License with Self Contained General Education Endorsement or Required Endorsement.
  • Applicants must possess effective behavior management skills.
  • Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximized student learning.
  • Applicant must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.

The community of Joliet, IL is 26.4 square miles and located approximately 35 miles southwest of Chicago, IL, within an easy commute to all the recreational and cultural activities the city has to offer. Recently the community overwhelmingly approved a $99.5 million school referendum to improve the facilities over the next few years. 

 

Joliet Public Schools District 86 offers a generous benefits package, including 95% district paid BCBS PPO premium with a $300 individual and $900 family deductible. Additionally, dental insurance, vision insurance, and tuition reimbursement are available.
