Bread Baker

Description

At Woodlands Market, we are seeking a skilled Bread Baker to join our team in Marin and San Francisco's premier gourmet grocery store.

• Prepare bakery products while maintaining quality assurance standards and consistency of finished products.
• Perform bakery duties including weighing, sifting, measuring, and mixing baking ingredients, as well as baking quick breads, rolls, cookies, muffins, croissants, pies, cakes, biscuits, and other items according to schedule.
• Properly build cakes, including filling, icing, decorating, making ganache, mousse, and buttercream.
• Maintain production for the bakery case, ensuring quality, expiration dates, and visual esthetics.
• Clean shelves, machinery (Hobart, scales, ovens, and baking tables), glass, and visible areas.
• Observe standard codes of protocol, wearing gloves at all times when handling product, and follow proper hygiene practices.
• Clean up as you go with production to maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of bakery workflow.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Able to prioritize work and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
• Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including the selling floor, stock area, and register area.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Repetitive lifting, bending, twisting.
