Job Summary:
Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Foreclosure Attorney to join our Default Services department. As a Foreclosure Attorney, you will play a crucial role in reviewing incoming foreclosure cases, developing case strategies, and representing our clients in various legal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume of foreclosure cases statewide, including reviewing and analyzing legal documents, such as complaints, answers, and motions
- Develop and implement effective case strategies based on specific circumstances of each case
- Collaborate with Firm management regarding procedures utilized in the firm’s NY foreclosure practice, including steps in the process, documents, local filing requirements, and judicial tendencies
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, certifications, objections, orders, memoranda, and other related documents
- Attend routine and contested hearings, settlement conferences, and other appearances
- Communicate regularly with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure that files are given appropriate attention
Qualifications:
- J.D. from ABA-accredited law school
- NY Bar admission in good standing
- 1-3 years' experience practicing law in NY, including plaintiff-side mortgage foreclosure experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Effective organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000, representing our firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, skill set, and location.
