General Summary
The barista is a store team member reporting to the Manager and/or Supervisor. The Barista provides superior customer service by engaging with customers, cleaning and organizing the cafe and outside. As well as promptly preparing and serving coffees, teas, food, etc. with unequalled quality. The Barista also accurately operates point-of-sales terminal, maintains reliability in attendance and demonstrates teamwork and respect in accordance with Outside
Coffee Co.’s values.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Sales -
- Ensure customers know they are welcomed and appreciated; understand what they want and help them with what they need.
- Engage with customers in a sincere and friendly manner through all points of their store experience, including acknowledging and greeting customers as well as thanking them for their patronage.
- Seek to understand customer needs and tailor suggestions to suit their needs, sharing product knowledge accurately and confidently while making personal recommendations.
Clean and organized -
- All areas of the cafe and garden are maintained, clean, and well organized reflecting the quality of Outside Coffee Co.’s brand.
- Demonstrate pride of the store by completing all cleaning, stocking, and organized tasks assigned by the Manager and/or Supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines
Unequalled Quality -
- Consistent delivery of the highest quality coffee, tea, beverage, and baked goods in accordance with Outside Coffee Co.’s distinguished quality standards.
- Prepare handcrafted espresso beverages and brew coffee and tea, adhering to freshness and quality standards.
- Serve beverages according to presentation standards
- Participate actively in all training to build expertise on new and promotional products.
- Engage in ongoing comparative tasting to expand knowledge of coffee and tea
Speed of Service -
- Demonstrate that customers come first by serving them with a sense of urgency
- Assist customers before completing other tasks in the truck
- Perform service role assigned by the service leader and maintain open communication with team members in order to promptly serve customers during peak and slow periods
- Prepare drinks in accordance with speed of service and fulfill bean orders promptly

Qualifications:
Previous barista experience in specialty coffee preferred
Passionate about specialty coffees and expanding coffee knowledge
Dedicated to exceeding expectations of customers
