Job Overview:
To maintain security via control systems and physical inspection and to control and record entrance and egress activity of service door.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor security cameras to ensure the security and safety of Museum staff and assets.
- Monitor intrusion, video, fire, and climate control systems and take appropriate action; act as telephone liaison with fire department under alarm conditions
- Control entry and egress of the Tuckerman Street service door to staff and vendors; receive and record shipments; assist and direct vendors
- Record and submit daily reporting on the shift activities.
- Report situations that are out of the ordinary to Security Manager. If no manager is on duty, follow departmental protocols.
- Conduct regular rounds; be observant of and security and safety concerns, mechanical issues, and leaks of any kind.
- Control the flow of property according to the property control policies
- Respond to radio communications; contact management, law enforcement, and EMT services as required without delay when addressing emergency response needs
- Access WAM email for information from management and other departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Flexible work schedule required; may include holidays, nights, overnight, and weekends.
- Ability to handle a variety of responsibilities
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Computer literate, comfortable operating computer and technology software including email systems, and web-based applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate, with needed details, verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well with others while effectively maintaining the security requirements of the Museum
- Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives
Education and Experience:
- High school or equivalent
- Demonstrated qualities of responsibility and accountability in maintaining rules and regulations while dealing with the public and staff. Previous experience with CCTV, building monitoring systems (Fire, HVAC and Access Control) preferred.
Salary : $16
