Purpose and Functions:
Low-Intensity Family Centered Coach, Our Chance TN; Tennessee Alliance for Economic
Mobility (TAEM) As a member of the Family Services Team for Workforce Essentials the Low-Intensity Family Centered Coach will deliver services as a part of the Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility(TAEM). TAEM plans to utilize stratified randomization, based on families’ county of residence, to place families into one of three pathways that support economic mobility. By utilizing this process, TAEM will eliminate selection bias and ensure the state of Tennessee most accurately understands the proposed impact of each of three interventions.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and stress-free point of entry to the TAEM model by greeting all clients with respect and kindness and determining their eligibility for the TAEM model.
- Conduct holistic intake assessments with clients and serve as contact and intermediary for transitional benefit services.
- Enter family information into online calculator, assign clients to intensity group, and enroll them in all available public benefits.
- Provide clients with a clear orientation to the program, services, and expectations.
- Work with families to create customized budgets to help increase financial resources and assets, in addition to expanding savings, improving credit, managing debt, and increasing net resources.
- Collect supporting documentation from client and determine transitional benefits (if applicable).
- Provide low-intensity family centered coaching directly to 1/3 of clients every 3 months and ensure that they receive the transitional benefit, financial literacy instruction, equitable access to resource guide and community-based supports, and employment and action plan follow-up and guidance.
- Follow up with all participants every 3 months to administer surveys and verify current financial and public benefit information and follow up with appropriate clients every 6 months to review and reassess Self Sufficiency Matrix.
- Enter all enrollment data in TAEM database, including supporting documentation, and engage in regular data quality oversight in TAEM database
- Ensure that all documents submitted on behalf of a participant are valid and directly connect appropriate clients to Family Coach.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human or social services, education, or related field, with at least two years of experience working with families and young children.
- Nonprofit experience and training in trauma-informed care, family-centered coaching, conscious discipline, and ACES preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, a good driving record, and maintain vehicle insurance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualities:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong management/organizational skills
- Knowledge of inner-city human services needs and methods of delivery
- Passion for working with people and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft computer programs and in related software programs and systems, including online information system is required.
- Working knowledge and experience in spreadsheet programs such as Excel preferred (to include creating and massaging data within a spreadsheet).
- Must have good organizational and strong detail orientation skills.
- Will require good internal and external customer service skills.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal or while traveling for extended periods of time is required.
- Must possess the ability to research, analyze and problem solve.
- Must be able to work independently, with moderate supervision.
- Must be performance and task driven.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
This is a salary, full time position based on a 37.5 hour work week. Hours of work are 8:00am until 4:30pm Monday through Friday. This position requires the flexibility to modify work schedule if needed to meet family’s needs.
