Principle Responsibilities:
Prepare cost and work completion estimates for mechanical projects to be bid.
Standard Duties:
Review plans and specifications for determining total work to be performed.
Using historical data and current price quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers.
Compile itemized material and price lists from specifications and blueprints.
Compute cost estimates of materials, purchased equipment, labor and subcontracted work.
Consult with Estimating Manager regarding cost problems or RFI's to be written that will affect final cost.
Job Requirements
Experience with Autodesk Fabrication EST mep or Revit/Navis Works estimating software necessary, experience with integrated 3D BIM / CAD software desired.
Complete familiarity with mechanical blueprints, schematics and specifications.
Ability to compile complete mechanical piping estimates.
Strong communication skills to solicit and verify subcontractor/vendor quotes.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Experience in budgeting and scheduling a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
Must have good oral and written communications skills.
Must have mechanical experience.
Ability to use 2D and 3D CAD software.
Ability to comprehend mechanical controls.
Education
College degree in mechanical engineering or 5 years actual experience in mechanical contracting or estimating must have experience in successfully estimating complex projects.

Pay Range: $25.00-$35.00/hourly
