What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Regulatory Program Manager position at WorkWell Consulting Group?
Position Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Regulatory Program / Project Manager with deep experience in financial services risk, controls, and regulatory change to lead complex, enterprise-level regulatory initiatives. This role requires strong delivery discipline, comfort operating in highly regulated environments, and the ability to translate regulatory expectations into clear, executable work across teams.
You’ll serve as a central point of coordination between Legal, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders—ensuring regulatory initiatives are executed with rigor, clarity, and accountability. You will partner closely with client leadership to assess current-state capabilities, identify gaps, design remediation strategies, and guide execution in environments with high scrutiny and low tolerance for error.
If you enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity, raising the bar on execution, and helping organizations operate with confidence under regulatory pressure—this is your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory and risk-focused programs from initiation through delivery, ensuring high-quality, audit-ready outcomes
- Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and business teams to align execution with enterprise regulatory standards
- Lead process and controls assessments, including documentation, evaluation, and enhancement
- Identify control gaps and execution risks; support development and tracking of remediation strategies
- Support regulatory exam readiness activities, including preparation, response coordination, and remediation tracking
- Establish and maintain execution discipline through integrated plans, risk and issue management, and dependency tracking
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable plans and decision-ready materials
- Develop executive- and board-level communications, including governance updates and regulatory status reporting
- Facilitate working sessions and stakeholder forums to drive alignment, accountability, and progress
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, balancing regulatory rigor with practical execution
- Manage competing priorities in fast-moving, high-stakes environments
- Contribute to WorkWell’s internal delivery standards and project management best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 8–12 years of experience in financial services, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, operational risk, controls, or regulatory change
- Proven success leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in highly regulated environments
- Experience supporting regulatory exams and formal regulator interactions
- Strong understanding of process and controls design, assessment, and remediation
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills—able to influence without direct authority
- Highly detail-oriented with strong judgment and a bias toward execution
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches
- Prior consulting experience or equivalent client-facing leadership required
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new client environments
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, as needed
