Guest Services Associate
A guest services associate position at World Cafe Live offers a great opportunity for a welcoming, creative, and energetic person to bring their dedication and excitement to two unique spaces in Philadelphia. The World Cafe Live footprint includes both The Lounge (a restaurant and bar that accommodates 140 seated or 220 standing), and The Music Hall that comfortably seats 300 and expands to accommodate 650 standing. The guest services team will oversee every aspect of guests needs with a focus on ticket sales and frequently asked questions.
Guest Services Associates will be part of team reporting directly to the Guest Services Manager with support full support from the Director of Operations. This is a part-time hourly position with flexible scheduling and possibility for full time hours as needed.
Primary Duties
- welcome guests and effectively process ticket orders, both via phone and in person
- assist with ticket scanning and seating of guests in The Music Hall & The Lounge
- maintain knowledge of current and upcoming performances to enrich guest experience
- effectively process sales of retail items
- be able to provide general information about all aspects of the venue, restaurant, and performances, both in person and over the phone
- accurately perform cash handling and check-out procedures
- attending guest coat check as needed
- perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
- support peers and management in providing the safest and most positive work environment
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Positive attitude, especially in challenging situations
- Team oriented mindset, with the ability to work indepenently
- 2 years of experience working in the customer service industry preferred
- Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Experience working in positions that require cash handling and customer service preferred
- Availability to work flexible hours primarily including nights and weekends
- Appreciation for independent, small business and live music
This position will have a start date in person and on site at World Cafe Live starting September 20th.
Compensation: This is an hourly part-time position for approx. 15-35 hours a week with a base hourly rate of compensation between $14/hour. Additional benefits available with full-time status after an average of 28 hours/week.
