Caregiver Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to join our team. The caregiver will be responsible for providing assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and companionship to our clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of empathy, patience, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and ensure clients follow their medication plans.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging them in conversation and recreational activities.
• Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up living spaces, doing laundry, and washing dishes.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and outings as needed.
• Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations or incidents.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the well-being of clients.
• Collaborate with other members of the caregiving team and communicate effectively with supervisors.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a caregiver or in a similar role preferred.
• Certification in CPR and first aid is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift and move clients with mobility limitations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
