What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Technician position at WP Rawl?
This individual will be responsible for all of the sanitation of the equipment while following protocol with sanitation and food safety guidelines. This position may vary on hours and shifts and there must be flexibility with days and hours. The shift begins at 4 pm until 1 am, end time varies depending on production needs.
Duties:
- Employee must be able to perform heavy manual work continuously.
- Position requires working with water and sanitation chemicals in cold and wet environments (= 40ºF).
- Sanitation employee must follow proper safety (PPE), food safety, and GMP standards.
- Work is performed under immediate supervision and is evaluated through observation and inspection to determine the thoroughness in carrying out assigned duties.
- Tear down, use chemicals to clean and sanitize, and reassemble equipment, including but not limited to food processing equipment.
- Comply with applicable good manufacturing (GMP), safety, and quality assurance practices. Read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while conforming to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
- Perform equipment and tool inspections.
- Work from heights utilizing ladders and aerial lifting equipment.
- Operate industrial equipment such as floor scrubbers, and pressure washers.
- Maintain accurate and legible documentation.
- Perform production, maintenance, light mechanical, and maintenance duties as assigned.
- Interact and communicate effectively as a part of a team. Interface with production, maintenance, and quality assurance departments and managers.
Work Conditions:
Sanitation Technician will be located in the production area. Production Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit.

- Requires standing and walking on concrete flooring.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness, with high standards for cleanliness.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Team oriented and willingness to assist others.
- Attend scheduled shifts and arrive on time. Commit to extra hours when necessary to reach goals. Follow instructions and adhere to management direction. Demonstrate good judgement. Work with integrity and ethically.
