WPT Power Corporation, a mechanical power transmission manufacturer, is recruiting for a Quality Control Technician position. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring implementation of quality assurance, control procedures, in-process inspections, and completed product inspections.
➤ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates, reviews and approves manufacturing and assembly instructions for adequate point of inspection operations.
- Determines appropriate documentation for inspection points.
- Assists with development of finished product and component receiving inspection procedures and requirements.
- Coordinates and/or conducts quality control reviews at established inspection points.
- Verifies and maintains quality control records.
- Trains and supports quality personnel to assure effective and competent performance of quality function.
- Participates in the review of design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation to assure conformance to quality control standards. This can include review of drawings, specification sheets, production procedures, testing and inspection standards, vendor inspections and customer contract specifications.
- Makes recommendations regarding facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures and systems to carry out quality control function.
- Coordinates tagging and quarantine procedures for rejection of in-process, finished product and component receiving inspection areas. Authorizes rework, scrap or return to vendor decisions with Plant Manager approval.
- Prepares and reviews quality trends including complaints and incident reports. Reports serious or repeated failures or unreliability in quality of products. Recommends corrective actions or plans/programs for overall defect reductions in products.
- Performs other quality control functions as necessary or as requested.
- Actively participates in quality assurance development, goals, and reviews.
- Assists in training appropriate employees in quality program.
➤ EDUCATION OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Good communications skills and the ability to work well with people are essential.
- Should be able to comprehend simple to very detailed schematics, blueprints and possible diagrams.
- An understanding in quality processes is preferred.
- Good leadership and computer skills are beneficial.
- May be required to use basic shop math, including fractions and/or decimals.
- Must have a high degree of manual dexterity and be mechanically inclined.
- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments and test equipment.
- Forklift certification within 30 days of hire date.
