POSITION VISION
The primary responsibility of the Wine & Spirits Sales Representative is to effectively manage and develop Wright Beverage Distributings wine & spirits portfolio within the market across all channels of trade. The W&S Sales Rep is responsible for; managing brand/portfolio specific objectives, opening new accounts, along with building customer relations. This individual will also execute market plans to grow volume and market share.


QUANTIFIABLE POSITION OBJECTIVES
1. Work independently and with sales team to attain wine & spirits sales distribution and volume goals in assigned & targeted accounts.
2. Accurately track distribution gains and losses in assigned & targeted accounts.
3. Accurately track promotional activity in assigned & targeted accounts.
4. Meet or exceed established sales and marketing objectives.
5. Execute supplier power selling days in-market as designated by the Wine & Spirits Sales & Marketing Manager (WSSMM).
6. Complies with the companys approved supplier standards.
7. Adheres to all annual objectives, sales goals and special assigned tasks.
8. Execute monthly and seasonal marketing plans as directed by the CBM.
9. Assist in executing plans for overstock and close-coded inventory issues.


QUALITATIVE POSITION OBJECTIVES
1. Maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers, key retailers and retail account managers where account responsibilities are shared.
2. Assist the WSSMM with sales team training.
3. Execute personal development initiatives as set forth by the WSSMM.
4. Effectively communicate field-related information (pricing, promotions, brands, notable activity etc.) to the WSSMM and Sales Managers.
5. Plan, coordinate, and attend wine & spirits related promotions, samplings, and special events.


PLANNING AND STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
1. Review and optimize WBDs Service Policy. Maintain and review account call and service schedules, request changes when appropriate, and work with operations to ensure adherence to WBDs Service Policy guidelines.


RESPONSIBILITIES
MARKET EXECUTION
1. Perform total sales responsibility for wine & spirits and entire portfolio in assigned accounts:
a. Follow prescribed route sequence as defined by management
b. Follow the sales call pre-planning and structured call process
2. Work with Sales Representatives as directed:
a. Assist in securing new W&S placements
b. Effectively communicate & coordinate new W&S products, promotions and opportunities with sales representatives.
3. Coordinate, execute, attend and measure W&S events as prescribed by WSSMM
4. Build and maintain working sales relationships in key accounts
5. Attend General Sales Meetings
a. Participate in presentation of new products & sales training as directed by the WSSMM
b. Keep team abreast of craft related activity, seek craft interest, share success stories, etc.

SUPPLIER RELATIONS
1. Work with wine & spirit suppliers in the market
a. Target high opportunity accounts
b. Execute work-withs as directed by WSSMM
2. Maintain an excellent working relationship with wine & spirits supplier reps.


ADMINISTRATIVE
1. Submit expense reports on timely basis
a. Adhere to mileage policies daily
2. Conduct pricing surveys in accounts when requested


CUSTOMER SERVICE
1. Establish and maintain working relationships with targeted accounts
2. Provide support in conducting sensory related training in accounts

W&S LIASION
1. Attend local, regional W&S events as directed by the WSSMM.
2. Actively patronize accounts with W&S potential
3. Train retailers and their employees in the proper methods of selling, serving and pricing


CUSTOMER RELATIONS
1. Uphold customer service philosophy and exemplify company standards while executing business activities.
2. Strive to build and maintain favorable reputation of the Company to fulfill the vision of being the Preferred Supplier with our customers.
3. Answer and satisfy customer complaints whenever possible to build positive business relationships.


MINIMUM/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Minimum: High School Diploma
                  Preferred: College Degree
Certification: Minimum: WSET Level 1 Certification
                     Preferred: WSET Level 2 Certification / Sommelier Certified
Skills: Minimum: Strong communication skills including verbal & written. Proficient in Microsoft office applications, especially Power point.
           Preferred: Superior communication skills. Strong math skills, creative initiative.
Experience: Minimum: Three years in beverage industry sales and/or marketing
                    Preferred: Experience in selling Wine & Spirits

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to drive for short or long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS
Must be comfortable interacting with retail accounts. Exposed to all weather conditions due to amount of travel associated with position. Ability to drive to branch locations on regular basis as required and ability to travel overnight for supplier meetings and conventions.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Must hold a valid, clean NYS drivers license that is acceptable to our insurance carrier. Must be able to sample all craft products (styles, ABVs, etc.) while practicing/demonstrating responsible drinking habits.
