Job description

Wrightsville Dental is a large two-story practice, ready to welcome you full-time, to our terrific team! We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and compassionate dental assistant who will make our office more efficient and pleasant for patients.You’ll ensure excellent patient experience and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be reliable and well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We expect you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Our computer software is Carestream, Softdent. Experience with nomads, sensors for taking digital x-rays, Invisalign, same-day crowns, iTero and Cerec is a plus, but we will train the right candidate if applicable!

We expect the right candidate to at least work 4 days per week.

Office Hours:

Mon-Wed: 8:00a-5:00p

Thurs-Fri: 8:00a-4:00p

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients in the dental office
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Scan patients regularly with iTero or Cerec Primescan
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Keep track of inventory and ordering supplies
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
  • Periodontal charting for hygienists
  • Be the liaison between labs and doctors
  • Be the liaison between patients and doctors

Skills

  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Knowledge with Cerec and iTero scanner is a plus
  • Experience with Invisalign, Implants and same-day crowns is a plus
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail while entering computerized chart notes
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • High school diploma; EFDA certification is preferred.

-Willing to train graduating dental assistants

  • Radiography certification
  • BLS certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20 - $25.00 per hour range but is negotiable based on experience.
