What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Learning Projects Coordinator position at Wu Yee Children's Services?

The Early Learning Projects Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the outreach efforts and coordinating volunteers and interns within the Child Development Program. This role involves attending recruitment events, delivering outreach presentations, volunteer and intern coordination, and collaborating closely with partners to promote the Child Development Program effectively.  This position will also be responsible for administrative functions of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) System. 

Location: 827 Broadway St San Francisco CA 

Postion: Full time | 40 hours per week. 8:30 - 5:30 pm | Monday - Friday

 

Responsibilities for Outreach/ Recruitment /Engagement

 In collaboration with the Early Learning Projects Manager develop and implement a strategic plan for outreach in the community to raise awareness of our program

  •        In collaboration with the Early Learning Projects Manager develop and implement a strategic plan for outreach in the community to raise awareness of our program
  • Conduct recruitment presentations and staff resource tables at community-based partner organizations to attract potential participants
  • Collaborate with other program staff for joint recruitment efforts
  • Coordinate with management staff to arrange staffing and schedules for events and activities
  • Train staff as needed on conducting outreach presentations and organizing recruitment activities in the community
  • Develop and maintain a recordkeeping and tracking system for logging all outreach and recruitment activities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community-based partners, family service staff and other staff involved in recruiting participants for the Child Development program
  • Represent Wu Yee Children’s Services at community meetings, particularly in relation to the Child Development progra
  •  Orders and maintains supplies, tools and equipment for program’s outreach activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities for Volunteer/Intern Placement:

  • In collaboration with the Early Learning Projects Manager develop and build a volunteer base that is representative of the diversity of the community, encompassing all languages and customs of the program’s children and families
  • Conduct presentations to potential volunteers about program and volunteer opportunities
  • Recruits, screens and oversees the training and retention of volunteers; coordinates, schedules, monitors and evaluates their work to assure maximum program coverage and effectiveness; assures that all departmental procedures are followed; handles public inquiries and any problem situations that may arise involving volunteer programs or staff
  • In collaboration with Center Managers and Managers to support volunteers in the program, checking in with volunteers on a regular basis, provide support where is needed to ensure smooth partnership for volunteers and managers
  • Be the lead contact for the Foster Grandparent program, MYEEP, and Opportunity for All programs
  • Organize and facilitate online and in-person orientations and trainings for schools and youth servicing organizations as needed
  • Manage and maintain volunteer database, to include application/registration, interview and background check process
  • Maintains schedules, timesheets, files and records for volunteers, including basic database management and development of statistical data

Responsibilities of the Multi-Tiered System of SUpports (MTSS) System coordination

  • Work in partnership with the Mental Health Coordinator to support scheduling and follow up of  Support Team meetings 
  • Support monitoring and follow up of action plans related to the MTSS system remotely    

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Work, Public Administration, Child Development, or related field preffered or ability to demonstrate work related equivalency.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with low-income individuals and families
  • At least 2 years of community organizing and outreach experience
  • 1 years of experience in Early Learning programming
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including comfort with conducting extensive community outreach presentations.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe, docusign, google workspace, and database experience
  • Must be able to work several weekends and some evenings throughout the year as required
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly compensatoin between $37.51 - $39.93 hour
