What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Account Manager position at X-Cel Specialty Contacts?
GENERAL FUNCTION
Manage, maintain, and grow X-Cel’s market share within the contact lens industry. Educate accounts on specialty contact lens designs, advise on fitting techniques, and consult on vision modalities. Maintain a professional demeanor, demonstrate industry expertise, and represent the company at trade functions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and expand business within assigned territory, collaborating with teammates to achieve X-Cel business objectives.
- Analyze market trends to adapt strategies for business growth.
- Provide education and training to eye care practitioners, office staff, distributors, and other customers. Conduct in-office patient fitting sessions or wet labs as needed.
- Represent X-Cel at conferences, tradeshows, and consultations professionally.
- Maintain consistent communication with accounts through calls or face-to-face meetings to drive business success.
- Meet or exceed forecasted sales objectives.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and system updates.
- Conduct business in a professional, cost-effective, and targeted manner.
- Collaborate with management, peers, and coworkers to maximize resources and effectiveness.
- Travel as necessary to fulfill business requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to company policies, attendance, and safety regulations, ensuring confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA-protected information.
- Assist coworkers as needed to meet deadlines and maintain workflow, demonstrating teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers. Attend in-house or Walman-sponsored training as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree and three or more years of successful sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking, listening, verbal, and written proficiency.
- Accreditation in one of the following: ABO, NCLE, JCHAPO.
- Experience in contact lens consultation and fitting.
- Ability to travel with overnight stays.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record per The Walman Optical Co. Motor Vehicle Policy.
