As the Assistant Front Office Manager you will have responsibility for all aspects of the Front Office and Bell operations while the Front Office Manager is not at the desk.
We operate 9 lodging facilities with over 2,000 guest rooms spread out over 6 locations in Yellowstone. Guest accommodations include cabins and hotel rooms ranging from rustic to modern. The Front Desk is often responsible for providing the first face-to-face impression to our guests and ensure they are given accurate and in-depth information about their accommodations and the park. Requirements
- Prior management experience preferred
- Prior hotel experience preferred
- Experience with Opera or other hotel PMS system preferred
The Details
- Position Type: Seasonal, Full-time
Season Dates: April 2023 - November 2023
Schedule: 40 hours, 5 days/per week. Night Shift Positions available. May include weekends, evenings and holidays.
Location: Throughout Yellowstone National Park

Responsibilities
Resposibilities:
- Resolve guest problems skillfully with a willingness and desire to understand a guest’s viewpoint and to take necessary steps so that the guest is satisfied when they leave.
- Perform all duties toward the goal of maximizing guest service while meeting or exceeding
financial goals. - Help in the development of Front Office personnel throughout the season.
- Ensuring Front Office personnel are offering the Yellowstone Forever donation, environmental
program and open accounts to guests during the check-in process. - Provide constructive feedback to staff and prepare employee documentation as
needed. - Regulate shift coverage for optimum effectiveness by scheduling staff according to business
levels and labor standards. - Ensure daily paperwork is completed in a timely manner and accurately, including bus illness
forms, daily reports, EOA form, and guest refund tracking sheets. - Assure dress, appearance, and conduct policies established by Xanterra and the Lodging
Department are followed and enforced. - Other duties as assigned on-site
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Human relations skills. Must be a "people-person" who thrives on public contact.
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs
- Bending, kneeling, stretching as needed
- Standing for long periods of time and walking up in down stairs as well as outdoors
