The Human Resources Manager will manage the day to day operation of HR processes and functions at The Grand Hotel and Tusayan Trading Post. Responsible for ensuring compliance and objective decision making in the following areas; employee relations, recruitment and hiring, employee housing, record-keeping, data entry, implementation of policies and procedures, training, etc.

Responsibilities
- Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Responsible for ensuring smooth and effective day-to-day administrative functions are accurately completed. This includes administration of a broad range of responsibilities: employee relations, recruiting and staffing, housing, recordkeeping, data entry, implementation of policies and procedures, training, etc.
- Responsible for building employee relationships; be available to employees/management to discuss concerns, ensure that employment and other issues pertinent to the employee are properly administered, ensure employee/management issues are consistently and properly addressed, provide guidance to managers/supervisors regarding their personnel and that applicable corrective action is properly implemented.
- Provides leadership to the Human Resources Administrative Assistant.
- Responsible for overseeing timely and accurate data entry of all personnel information entered into Lawson HRIS.
- Responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate processing of new hires – ensuring E-Verify compliance through monthly audits, processing changes of status, benefits, terms, separations, time off requests, LOA/FMLA/STD/ADA, etc.
- Responsible for scheduling and planning recruiting efforts, including J1 Visa program and processes; based on predetermined employment goals while maintaining compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan and government regulations.
- Work with Regional Talent Manager to select areas for recruiting based on labor market research and previous results. Develop new recruiting markets.
- Responsible for reviewing incoming applications to determine applicability to position applied for. Interview applicants for vacant positions both face-to-face and via telephone as appropriate. Coordinate with management staff regarding their involvement in the interview process.
- Responsible for ensuring the completion of applicant reference process.
- Conduct pre-employment Background and Motor Vehicle Record checks; communicate alert results with Director of Human Resources. Follow proper procedures for Pre-Adverse and Adverse letters.
- Generate verbal and written job offers and offers of employment to selected applicants.
- Responsible for coding and closing applications and requisitions accordingly.
- As necessary, coordinate travel, meetings, and hotel accommodations for candidates.
- Work with Department Managers and Directors to update and develop job descriptions based on the department needs while adhering to employment regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper coordination and production of weekly job posting list; as well as updating job postings on the Company website – weekly or more frequently as needed.
- Work with the corporate HR department regarding posting of open property management positions.
- Coordinate property-to-property employment transfer requests and offers.
- Coordinate and participate in off-site recruitment efforts (job fairs, etc).
- Responsible for presenting HR New Hire Orientation and tracking attendees to ensure 100% completion of processes.
- Responsible for ensuring employee files and documents are accurately filed in compliance with Xanterra File and Retention policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous knowledge of HR practices and principals.
- Must possess the ability to effectively and objectively manage and administer a broad range of responsibilities: employee relations, recruiting and staffing, housing, record-keeping, data entry, implementation of policies and procedures, training, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to sell employment opportunities with Xanterra Tusayan, LLC The Grand Hotel, Tusayan Trading Post, Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and Xanterra Parks and Resorts.
- Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy.
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs with the ability to effectively communicate using Outlook.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn and effectively use new software and proficiency with the Internet.
- Must be detail oriented and have good organizational, prioritization skills and multi tasking abilities.
- HR Generalist experience with an emphasis on recruiting and employee relations is preferred.
- PHR Certificaiton and experience in hospitality industry a plus.
- Lawson (HRIS) and Kronos (Timekeeping) program experience a plus.
- Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
