Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Telephony Engineer with a strong background in telephony integrations. The ideal candidate is highly product-minded and capable of making strategic decisions that drive telephony integrations. You will play a pivotal role in building robust software solutions while setting high engineering standards for the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Telephony Integrations: Design and develop integration solutions for various telephony systems and applications, including VoIP, PBX, and cloud-based telephony.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make informed product decisions that enhance user experience and business value.
- Technical Leadership: Implement and test integration solutions to ensure functionality, performance, and adherence to security protocols.
- Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, providing timely resolutions and maintaining system uptime.
- Documentation: Document integration processes, workflows, system configurations, and security protocols.
- Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in telephony and integration to enhance strategies and adopt innovative solutions.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers to develop their technical and professional skills.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of applications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 7 years of professional software development experience focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining communication systems, particularly those involving telephony and voice technologies
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining telephony integration solutions is needed.
- A strong understanding of VoIP protocols (e.g., SIP, RTP, H.323), PBX systems, audio encoding, and cloud-based telephony solutions is essential.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, and SQL is expected.
- Experience with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and security best practices for telephony and server administration, is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards and protocols like REST, SOAP, and EDI is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills are necessary.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network , Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and their integration services.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or OTEL) for tracking API performance and metrics. Experience building Grafana dashboards.
- Experience with telephony signalling (SIP, SIPREC, RTP, CTI). Specifically building SIPREC (SRS) Session Recording Servers.
- Experience building Grafana Dashboards.
- Experience with integrating metrics with Grafana Alloy.
- Experience creating, using, and maintaining testing rigs for functional testing, smoke testing, and load testing.
