Job Summary This position is responsible for the supervision of Associates in the Aluminum Department.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates morning meetings and relays company information to subordinates. Covers safety issues, quality issues and previous day performance. Ensures all associates are wearing PPE and uniforms.
  • Monitors hourly outputs and calculates target variences-Cycle time checks each Monday. Performs Genba P and daily safety line checks.
  • Troubleshoots minor equipment issues. Notifies Asst Mgr and Maintenance after 20 minutes of unsuccessful troubleshooting.
  • Is knowledgeable of daily inventory, WIP and outgoing orders for their area of responsibility.
  • Brings all associate relation issues to Asst Mgr, Manager, and Head Count Coordinator.
  • Ensures their associates are working as a Team and respectful of each other. If an issue arises the Team Leader will use proactive intervention to resolve the conflict.
  • Trains Associates and technicians to operate and repair equipment
  • Completes daily TPM sheets and inputs correctly into TPM files on Buckeye4.
  • Reviews and ensures that ESUCS, PQCS and other manufacturing paperwork is completed and correct each day. Any discrepancies on the forms needs to be noted on the form and a plan of action to correct the discrepancy.
  • Responsible for training associates on all New Revised Documents within 3 business days of being issued.
  • Completes departmental paperwork including weekly/monthly reports, inventory investigations, and Associate evaluations
  • Trains Associates on all aspects of Quality.
  • Responsible for the daily 5S of their line.
  • Responsible to investigate scrap and quality issues on their lines daily in an effort to reduce scrap. Ensures all NG tags are filled out properly before signing.
  • Update Visual Boards daily.
  • Train all associates to our SOPs, 1pg Work Instruction and Inspection Standards.
  • Complete TWI training and turns in before due date for all associates.
  • Monthly Safety Topics training completed before the end of each month.
  • Able to identify Top 3 Scrap and Downtime reasons in your process.

  • Interacts with co-workers, customers, and outside vendors
  • Maintains clean working environment
  • Continuously seeks to improve processes
  • Promotes a safe working environment
  • Communicates with Associates and Assistant Manager/Manager regarding production issues.
  • Responsible and coordinates sort activity for the specific line in charge of.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred. Manufacturing experience in lieu of education.

Experience Position requires 1 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing. Familiarity with 5s, Cycle Time Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Operation Rate, 4Ms, and Scrap reduction. Formal training in Front Line Leadership preferred.

Skills Position requires excellent interpersonal skills, computer software knowledge, the ability to effectively supervise and motivate industrial labor, proactively support the company's position on issue avoidance, enforce company policies and abide by applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Ability to foster a culture of team work and continuous improvement across all 3 shifts.

Working Conditions Position requires the ability to type, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift up to 30 pounds, stand on concrete for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime, and withstand temperatures of up to 100 degrees.

Travel Position may require occasional travel. A valid license is required.
