Summary/Objective: The Logistics Assistant is responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of product by preparing appropriate shipping documents and labels, applying accurate freight rates, and arranging transportation.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare pack slips, BOLs, and commercial/international invoices
- Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery of products.
- Determine shipping rates using carrier websites and charts
- Contact customer to communicate weight, # of pkgs, and space needed so customer can determine shipping method
- Communicate effectively with customers and other departments regarding shipments
- Supply customer requested tracking information and documentation like QA sheets
- Process FedEx/UPS ground shipments
- Be flexible to support the shipping department when and where needed.
- Understand regulations and requirements for international shipping
