The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for leading and executing the YMCA’s annual giving campaign and related appeals to support the association’s fundraising goals. This role focuses on cultivating a culture of philanthropy, managing donor communications, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Annual Giving Manager serves as the subject matter expert on annual giving strategies and processes, ensuring the YMCA’s mission is effectively communicated and supported.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead the annual giving campaign, including association-wide year-end giving initiatives and special events, to achieve fundraising goals and benchmarks.
- Develop and execute comprehensive annual fundraising strategies, including digital and direct mail campaigns, audience segmentation, copywriting, vendor management, and performance tracking for reporting and optimization.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all annual giving initiatives, providing leadership, training, and support to Family Center staff and volunteers.
- Build and manage a donor communications calendar in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and Brand and Cause team to support the Annual Giving Campaign across all Family Centers.
- Maintain association-wide data and tracking systems to ensure adherence to campaign deadlines, reporting requirements, and administrative procedures for all donations.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building
- Work collaboratively with YMCA leadership, Family Center leaders, board members, volunteers, and staff to develop annual giving plans, case statements, materials, goals, budgets, timelines, activations, and training programs.
- Champion efforts to strengthen the Y’s philanthropic culture by fostering greater annual giving among staff, board volunteers, members, donors, and the community.
- Cultivate relationships between the YMCA and key community stakeholders, including public and private corporations, media partners, and other organizations, to enhance the Y’s position as an essential community nonprofit.
- Solicit and secure compelling testimonial stories to highlight the Y’s impact and demonstrate the ongoing need for support.
- Support sponsorship funding efforts as assigned to secure revenue for YMCA programs and special events across the association.
- Ensure proper stewardship of gifts and adherence to the highest ethical standards, following the Donor Bill of Rights.
- Track and manage donor data and campaign outcomes to support continuous improvement and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor and follow the Association’s current employee and member injury reporting procedures.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in financial development, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience successfully raising funds in a nonprofit or community fundraising capacity.
- Proven success in leading volunteers with fundraising leadership experience preferred.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High energy and a proven ability to influence decision-makers and build dynamic relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and donor database software, CRM systems, and project management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
- Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Driver license. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The physical activities of this position include: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction.
- Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
- The employee must be able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity, along with the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading, or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person.
