POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Sr. Program Director, the Bus Driver is responsible for driving YMCA vehicles and ensuring safe trips for the passengers. He/she is responsible for managing those functions in accordance with the stated mission and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Bus Driver must have the competencies, skills and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the YMCA mission, goals and vision for serving the community. Other important responsibilities include the following:
• Daily inspection of buses to make sure they are clean and working properly • Requires vision and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks. • Ability to communicate clearly through speech and understanding of the English language. Ability to walk, stand, kneel, stoop and manual dexterity. • Ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds. • Ability to adapt to change quickly, work under stressful conditions on a regular basis, and have responsibility for the health and safety of others. • Must pass the YMCA bus driving assessment set forth from the Redwoods Insurance Group. Occasional travel, including overnight, may be necessary. • Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults
- Must have a valid Class D Driver’s License, CDL license is preferred.
- Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
- Complete all required Redwoods trainings by their completion deadlines

- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
