Requirements
Essential Functions
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to relate and communicate well with children, parents and other staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to be flexible.
- Ability to sit on floor or child sized chair, stand for 1 hour periods, occasionally lift 50 lbs and frequently lift 30 lbs and crouch for 15 minutes.
- Ability to multi task.
Additional Functions
- Participate in all Regional Staff meetings and functions
- Ability to work well in high stress situations, responding properly to critical incidents, and act swiftly in emergency situations
- Must be able to establish harmonious relations with staff team, volunteers, school districts, and local partners
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
- Knowledgeable of programs monitored
REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass YMCA background check
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must meet all standards as dictated by the state Child Care Division
- Obtain Food Handlers within first 30 days
- CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to acquire certifications within 30 days of employment
- Prior work experience with childcare preferred
- Reliable transportation to travel to sites across West Region (Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, etc.)
- Attire: Clean ‘nice’ bottoms (jeans, pants), staff shirt and name tag
