The French Creek Family YMCA is looking for an Assistant Swim Coach. Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, you will assist the Head Coach with leading age-appropriate activities for groups of swimmers at practice, promoting and incorporating the YMCA's core values and mission into all aspects of the job and community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Fulfill Y's mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
- Attend all practices and swim meets.
- Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master strokes allowing for movement up through the swim team groups, and provide corrective feedback that will enhance swimmers' techniques.
- Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents.
- Ensure the safety of swimmers at the practice by following proper precautions and regulations.
- Lead warm ups and practices enthusiasm, encouraging the involvement of all participants.
- Assist with the recruiting, development and maintaining volunteers and parent groups/committees.
- Organize equipment and maintain records
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent human relations skills.
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer preferred.
- Prior coaching experience preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate correct swim techniques and strokes.

- Visual abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
- Lead, demonstrate and/or participate in water activities for a sustained period of time.
- Climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, visual acuity and swimming.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to cleaning and pool chemicals as well as hot or cold temperatures.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
- Work environment is frequently slippery and wet.
- Travel to and from competition may be required.
