A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COOK
As a Cook, you will be responsible for the preparation of meals, maintaining quality foods and complying with all federal CACFP & SFSP regulations. Always conscientious, you provide proper sanitation and housekeeping in your designated work areas. You are careful to follow food safety procedures at all times!
You are friendly and patient as you assist community members with the distribution of meals to participants in the YMCA Food Program. As a key liaison between the community and the YMCA, you keep this good rapport going as you communicate with participants in the program with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COOK
- Minimum of one years' experience as a cook
- High school diploma or GED, preferred.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Act 33, Act 34 and FBI clearances to comply the Child Protective Services Act.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: New Employee Orientation, Mandated Reporter, Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; Pediatric CPR/ First Aid/ AED; Bloodborne Pathogens, and other OSHA required trainings, Fire & Water Safety Training

PART TIME WORK SCHEDULE
