The YMCA of Greensburg is looking for fun, energetic, enthusiastic summer camp head counselors to serve their community this coming summer. Ideal candidates are team players; communicate effectively with parents, campers, and peers; and have patience, and creativity.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of activities for campers.
- Acting as a role model for the children and other counselors at all times.
- Being responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.
- Maintaining supervision during summer field trips.
Camp is held at the Greensburg YMCA.
Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must have one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or the human services field;
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education;
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
- Must be able to provide or acquire state criminal (Act 33), child abuse (Act 34), FBI, and sex offender registry clearances.
- Must provide physical exam and TB test completed within the last 12 month of hire.
- Must provide two letters of recommendation.
