As part of the YMCA health coaching staff, you provide support to participants on their wellness journey providing them someone to talk to, learn from and partner with as they make wellness a priority. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Helping participants set short and long term goals and develop actions plans to achieve them.
- Conversing with and advising participants on how to incorporate plans into their daily lives and enabling them to self-manage their health.
- Offering unconditional support and encouragement to participants and their ability to implement lasting change.
- Collaborating with other care providers to ensure that strategies align with overall plans.
- Recommending other YMCA services such as personal training or nutrition consultations as applicable.
- Monitoring the process and providing modifications as needed.
