About Us
At the YMCA of Middletown, we believe in building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Our Club Kid Program provides before and after school enrichment in a safe, supportive, and fun environment for elementary-aged children. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Club Kid Program Coordinator to lead our Middletown Club Kid site at Liberty Street and help shape the next generation of leaders.
Position Summary
The Club Kid Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the Middletown Club Kid Program, including AM/PM sessions, half-days, Vacation Camp, and Kids Night Out. This role includes planning engaging age-appropriate activities, leading staff, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and acting as a liaison between the YMCA, school district, and families. During the summer months, this position transitions into a Camp Director role.
Key Responsibilities
· * Oversee daily operations of the Club Kid Program and related youth enrichment programs.
· * Plan and implement a balanced schedule of activities including active play, crafts, team-building, and homework support.
· * Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring compliance with YMCA and state regulations.
· * Maintain attendance records and safety protocols.
· * Communicate regularly with parents, school personnel, and YMCA leadership.
· * Assist in recruitment and retention of program participants.
· * Drive YMCA van for student transport as needed.
· * Serve as a Camp Director during the summer season.
Qualifications
· * Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in school-age childcare.
· * Strong understanding of elementary-aged child development and behavior.
· * Knowledge of state and county childcare regulations.
· * CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
· * Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· * Commitment to the YMCA’s mission, values, and community impact.
