What are the responsibilities and job description for the SACC - Associate Teacher position at YMCA of Muncie?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Instructs
children in developmentally appropriate activities designed to promote social,
emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative growth in the YMCA of Muncie.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists the site director in implementing an
emergent curriculum and provocations in a before and after school child
care setting, focusing on children’s needs and interests.
- Maintains effective and appropriate
communication (written, verbal, and non-verbal) with all program
constituents.
- Assists the site director in maintaining all
required documentation.
- Implements and adheres to health and safety
policies/procedures, and all other quality standards set forth by
partnering/regulatory agencies.
- Upholds all policies, practices, and
procedures of the YMCA of Muncie.
- Partners with families; through engaging them
in the program and connecting families to each other.
- Keep abreast of current knowledge in child
development and best practices working with children.
- Keep all trainings and requirements up to
date.
- All other duties as assigned.
