Job Description
Candidates for the Volleyball Program Leader position must have an enthusiastic personality with an ability to develop relationships with participants, parents and other staff. They must have an extensive knowledge of volleyball and a desire to use that knowledge to grow professionally with the YMCA. They should present themselves in a professional, caring manner and have excellent communication skills. They should also learn and understand the YMCA’s mission and best practices in order to help foster and ensure all sports practices, games and events in the gym have a mission driven atmosphere.
Schedule: During Season, Mondays-Fridays 4:45pm-8:45pm, Saturdays 8am-3pm, 25 hours per week during volleyball season (Fall: August-October, Winter: January-February, Spring: March-May)

Responsibilities Include
- Serve as point of contact for youth and adult volleyball program participants
- Help assigns teams for youth and adult volleyball program by hosting evaluations and open gyms
- Serve as program leader and primary contact of Youth Volleyball program which includes being present at practices and all games, communicating with volunteer coaches and enforcing all rules.
- Serve as program leader and primary contact of Adult Volleyball program which includes being present at open gyms and all games, helping make schedules, coordinating with team captains and enforcing all rules.
- Serve as lead official for youth volleyball games
- Lead Volleyball Academy during spring, fall and winter season and help with any clinics or other academies that may be offered
- Provides day-to-day supervision and assistance for coaches, parents, and participates at a practice and/or games for volleyball
- Making sure practices and/or games are running orderly and in a timely manner
- Be able to fill in for coaches and/or officials that are running late or absent
- Recruit parent or youth volunteers to keep score and line judge on game days
- Monitors equipment, supplies and/or program materials
- Responsible for making sure facility is left in good condition after closing
- Assure a fun, safe and quality experience that is in accordance with Association policies/guidelines. This includes monitoring language and behavior of Y participants.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service
