What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher position at YMCA of the East Valley?
The Title 5 Lead Teacher executes the daily curriculum and insures the safety and nurture of the children in their care.
Required Qualifications:
- Title 5 educational and experience requirements for a Child Development Permit (min. Associate level)
- Current CPR/First Aid (American Red Cross, American Heart Association or EMSA approved)
Desired Skills:
- Previous childcare experience
Essential Functions:
- Insure safety of children enrolled in program
- Prepare and/or execute curriculum and daily schedule for program
- Insure Title 5, 22 and Federal Food Program requirements are followed
- Insure communication with parents through newsletter, notes and daily verbal updates
- Insures teacher duties are distributed fairly and completed by other team members
- Any other duties related to the operation of the classroom as assigned

Physical Requirements:
- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead Teachers supervise Associate level teachers
Driving Responsibilities:
- Occasionally driving to another site to insure teacher to child ratio is maintained
Background Check:
