POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Director, this position will be responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and enforcing policies & procedures that will ensure the safety and well-being of all members, guests, and staff at the YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able enforce YMCA policies and guidelines for the basketball court, walking/running track, fitness center, tween room, sauna, etc. in a professional manner.
- Supervise “open play” situations in the gymnasium, resolving any issues related to the use of the YMCA facility and participation in Y programs by youth and adults.
- Perform simple housekeeping tasks such as cleaning restrooms, showers, floors & windows, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, setting up rooms/arranging furniture and removing trash. Heavier cleaning duties will be performed on occasion. Light parking lot clean-up is also expected.
- Assist Member Services staff in giving tours and welcoming guests. Complete facility checklists during each shift. Report any facility needs or program concerns in writing.
- Engage with members or potential members.
- Monitor all activity inside the facility by making regular rounds in program areas, locker room, and hallways.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including night closing procedures; respond to emergency situations.
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Preforms fitness orientations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have strong skills in independent working and communication to perform successfully in this role.
• A working knowledge of YMCA programs is required.
• Position requires current certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk.

• Schedule: Approximately 10-15 hours/week. Must be flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends.
