South Side YMCA located in Chicago, IL is hiring a Bus Driver for the after-school program!
As a Bus Driver, you’ll transport children for various programs and trips for the YMCA. The bus driver provides supervision and direction to the children and/or adults.
Pay range for this role is starts at $17.90 per hour

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Transport children/adults to and from program activities and site(s).
- Makes daily safety inspection of bus/van.
- Reports to supervisor any conditions on bus/van which needs attention or correction.
- Oversees conduct of children/adults on bus/van.
- Follows all driver guidelines and standards.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- May supervise a group of program participants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or higher
- Must have a valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
- Customer service orientation with the ability to effectively communicate on a regular basis with internal/external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service.
Child Abuse Prevention - Supports the YMCA’s commitment to child abuse prevention by:
- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
