What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at YogaSix?
General Manager
Position: General Manager
Location: YogaSix Somerville
Reporting to: Owner
This role isn’t for everyone—and that’s okay. Please consider the following before applying:
This position is not for you if…
- You’re uncomfortable with accountability. This role requires a high level of ownership over outcomes, and we’re looking for someone who takes initiative, tracks progress and embraces feedback as part of growth.
- You shy away from sales. Sales is at the heart of how we grow our community and keep our studios thriving. If you’re not excited to lead a team through membership conversions, outreach, and goal-setting, this probably isn’t the right fit.
- You prefer a lot of structure and direction. While we value systems and support, we also move fast and need leaders who can problem-solve on the fly, make informed decisions, and bring structure where it’s needed—without waiting to be told what to do.
- You’re not comfortable working evenings or weekends. This is a full-time, in-person leadership position, and being present during peak studio hours is part of the job.
- You prefer working behind the scenes. This role requires you to be on the floor, leading by example, actively engaging with both staff and members, and handling issues in real time.
We offer something valuable and lasting in our community, and we’re looking for a leader who’s passionate about contributing to that purpose.
About the Role
As the General Manager for YogaSix Idaho, you’ll be the strategic leader overseeing daily operations, driving sales performance, and building community across our three studio locations. You’ll inspire your team, foster a culture of accountability and enthusiasm, and help shape a high-performance environment that delivers exceptional member experiences and sustainable growth.
We’re looking for someone who brings a strong balance of people leadership and operational excellence—ideally with experience in a corporate or structured business environment and the ability to apply that structure and discipline within a fast-moving small business.
