What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Coordinator position at York College of Pennsylvania?
The Area Coordinator is responsible for managing all functions of a residential complex of approximately
400 - 800 students and supervising a staff of undergraduate Resident Assistants (9-15), an undergraduate Community Assistant, undergraduate Desk Assistants (10-25), and an undergraduate Desk Supervisor. The Area Coordinator oversees complex programs, serves in the on-call rotation, hears student conduct cases, coordinates weekly staff and supervisory meetings, responds to emergencies, and serves as a liaison between the Residence Life Office, Campus Operations (including Campus Police), the Student Development Office, and other administrative areas as needed. This position lives in College provided housing (live in).
Requirements:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. Experience in Residence Life or Student Leadership strongly preferred. Ability to work effectively in a collegiate setting with students, faculty, administrators, and staff. Effective communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential.
