Job Description:
York Country Day School is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to join our well-established Early Childhood team. The Teacher Aide maintains and contributes to an exceptional learning environment for students aged 2 1/2 through 4 years. The Teacher Aide participates fully in the life of the school, including collaborating with the team in a mission-driven environment.

Looking for an experienced, highly qualified, and energetic teacher aide as an addition to the YCDS Lower School faculty for the 2024-2025 school year.
Essential Functions
The Lower School Teacher aide will be responsible for working with students ages 2 1/2 to 4 years old.
The following are the responsibilities associated with this position:
- Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe classroom environment
- Giving individual and small group lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher
- Supervising the playground
- Attending to the logistical aspects of the classroom and assisting the Lead Teacher in student activities
- Assisting with creating materials
Experience and Education Required
- High School diploma or higher
- 2 to 5 years of experience working with young children in a school setting
- Experience assisting in a classroom
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Support young children in their daily activities with kindness and patience
- Ability to carry out activities with children to help develop their fine and gross motor skills
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth and personal development
