Position Title: Surgery Registered Nurse - Full Time (FT)
Department: Surgery
Reports to: Director of Surgery
Nature of Work
York General is looking for a Full Time RN that is interested in providing fantastic surgical care closer to home in our rural communities. If you'd like to be part of a surgery team assisting in a wide range of elective and emergent procedures, as well as, providing direct patient care in the operating room, outpatient surgery and PACU settings, this is a great opportunity for you!

- Great hours: Monday - Friday, 0700-1530, plus call.
- Will be on call 1 day per week, 1 weekend per month, 2 holidays per year.

What You'll Do

This position is responsible for providing nursing care to surgical, outpatient surgical (OPS), and PACU patients using the nursing process to apply knowledge of procedures meeting the identified needs of patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised because they're undergoing operative or other invasive procedures.
- Provide direct patient care, implements physician orders (administers medications, treatments, IV therapy, positioning), assesses and evaluates patient needs and provides teaching and support to patients, families, and significant other.
- Formulation of a plan of care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient/family/significant other.
- Assurance of appropriate and accurate documentation of perioperative cares (OPS, OR-PACU patient record, counts and specimens, charges).
- Maintain appropriate aseptic technique.
- Assure and monitor safe care and use of equipment and supplies to protect patient and staff.
What You Need
- Good communication skills and a caring attitude
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Must possess current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska
- Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
