People Operations Coordinator
The People Operations Coordinator will support Yorktown’s employees, leadership and the People Operations team with each step of the employee life cycle. This position is at the YSG Headquarters
Duties/Responsibilities
Provides support for all hiring/on-boarding, employment changes, and termination/off-boarding activities to include on-boarding emails, new hire welcome packages, collection and organization of new hire/termination paperwork, and E-Verify and state new hire reporting.
Maintains on-boarding, employment/payroll changes and off-boarding trackers/reports and distributes to various departments on a daily basis.
Creates and maintains employee personnel files and on-boarding checklists.
Maintains the structure and organization of all on-boarding, employment changes and off-boarding sites on the Employee Records portal.
Drafts for review, sends and tracks return of Employment Agreements and Employment Agreement Modifications to candidates and current employees.
Establishes and maintains employee electronic employment, benefits, payroll, performance, training, and termination records into HRIS. Provides double check of entries as required.
Monitors and responds to People Operations related email accounts. Handles employment and benefit related inquiries and updates (i.e., address changes, marital status changes, etc.) from employees and leaders, referring complex and or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff in partnership with People Operations leadership.
Responds to Verification of Employment requests per company policy.
Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.
May assist with recruiting activities as necessary.
May assist with benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment.
Stays abreast of all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices. Provides assistance in reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Stays abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in people operations, talent management, and employment law.
Participate as an active member of the Yorktown non-profit Foundation 1781.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field and two years of professional experience in human resource administration, or four years of professional experience in human resource administration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension).
Clearance - Clean crime and credit background check.
Salary : $44,900 - $56,800
