Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Childcare Director to lead our nurturing and educational environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who ensures the highest standards of care, education, and safety for our children. This role requires a balance of administrative expertise, team leadership, and genuine passion for early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Routine & Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee a structured, engaging, and age-appropriate daily schedule that promotes learning, play, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure smooth daily operations, maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating environment for children and staff.
- Monitor classroom activities and curriculum implementation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor teaching and support staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Effectively delegate tasks and manage staff schedules to maintain optimal ratios and center functionality.
- Communication & Relationship Building:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, providing clear, compassionate, and proactive communication regarding their child's progress, center policies, and daily activities.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
- Address and resolve any concerns from parents or staff with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Direct Interaction & Child Development:
- Actively engage with children, modeling best practices in early childhood education and behavior guidance.
- Apply a deep understanding of child development stages to support staff and enhance program quality.
- Be a visible and accessible presence in classrooms, ensuring a warm and supportive atmosphere.
- Administration & Compliance:
- Manage all center paperwork with accuracy and efficiency, including child records, licensing documents, staff files, attendance, and billing.
- Ensure strict compliance with all state licensing regulations, health and safety codes, and accreditation standards.
- Oversee budget assistance, purchasing, and other administrative duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a directly related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a licensed childcare setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing daily routines and operations in a childcare environment.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences (parents, staff, children, regulators).
- Warm, patient, and genuine aptitude for interacting with and understanding young children.
- Strong organizational skills and proven experience in handling detailed paperwork and meeting compliance deadlines.
- Current certifications in CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Must pass all required state background checks and clearances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
