What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Counselor position at Young Harris College?
Young Harris College seeks a full-time Financial Aid Counselor. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Counselor will provide excellent customer service to students, parents and the college community.
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and will possess:
- strong customer service skills
- advanced problem-solving skills
- attention to detail
- excellent organizational skills
- excellent written and oral communication
- ability to work independently as well as with a team
- ability to multitask
- excellent prioritization and time management skills
- knowledge of financial aid processes
- a working knowledge of the FAFSA application
- a working knowledge of processing federal aid such as Pell Grant, FSEOG, federal loans, etc.
- familiarity of State programs such as HOPE, Zell, GTEG and dual enrollment
- familiarity with Work-Study programs
- a knowledge of federal and state laws, rules and regulations
- a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
- a knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
